Your Rumi Pod is designed with premium materials and high-quality appliances for long-term outdoor performance. To protect your investment and maintain warranty eligibility, all care, cleaning, and maintenance must be performed correctly and regularly by the customer or qualified professionals.
Please review the guidelines below carefully. Failure to follow this guide may void applicable warranties.
1. General Care Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for maintaining the condition, cleanliness, performance, and overall upkeep of their Rumi Pod. Rumi Pods assumes no liability for damage, deterioration, malfunction, or performance issues resulting from:
- Lack of routine maintenance
- Improper or infrequent cleaning
- Exposure to harsh elements without protection
- Misuse, abuse, neglect, or alteration
- Unauthorized repairs or modifications
- Improper utility connections or installation
Your Rumi Pod must be cared for as instructed below to maintain longevity and warranty eligibility.
2. Cleaning & Surface Care
To preserve the finish and structural integrity of cabinetry, countertops, and exterior panels:
- Clean surfaces regularly using water and a non-abrasive, pH-neutral cleaner approved for stainless steel and powder-coated finishes.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, bleach, ammonia, or metal scouring pads.
- Wipe spills immediately to avoid staining or moisture damage.
- Keep the outdoor kitchen covered when not in use to protect from UV, rain, snow, and debris.
- Do not use pressure washers on any part of the pod.
Damage caused by improper cleaning methods is not covered under warranty.
3. Appliance Maintenance
All appliances must be maintained according to each manufacturer’s instructions. This includes routine cleaning, filter replacement, inspections, winterization, and required servicing.
The customer is responsible for:
- Ensuring proper ventilation and safe operation
- Protecting appliances during extreme weather
- Scheduling regular maintenance as recommended
- Hiring qualified technicians for any repairs
Improper use, neglect, or failure to follow appliance manuals may void manufacturer warranties.
4. Electrical Care
Electrical components must only be serviced by a licensed electrician. The customer must ensure:
- Proper weather protection for all power connections
- No exposure of electrical systems to standing water
- Regular inspection of outlets, breakers, and wiring
- Immediate disconnection of power if any issue is observed
Rumi Pods is not liable for electrical failures, shortages, outages, or hazards resulting from installation issues or customer handling.
5. Plumbing Care
For pods with sinks or water-connected appliances, plumbing must be maintained by a licensed plumber. Customer responsibilities include:
- Winterizing plumbing lines in cold climates
- Inspecting for leaks and moisture issues
- Ensuring proper drainage and trap function
- Avoiding clogs, freezing, or backflow
Water damage to cabinetry or structure caused by plumbing issues is not covered under warranty.
6. Gas Care (BBQ Grill)
All gas connections and propane supply for the BBQ grill must be provided, installed, and serviced only by a licensed professional in accordance with local codes. The customer must ensure:
- Proper installation of all gas lines, regulators, fittings, and shutoff valves
- Routine inspection for leaks, wear, or damage before use
- Immediate shutdown of gas supply if any odor, leak, or issue is observed
- No unauthorized modifications to any gas components or grill connections
Rumi Pods is not liable for gas-related failures, leaks, hazards, or damage resulting from installation issues, code noncompliance, or customer handling.
7. Weather Protection
Your pod must be protected from severe or extreme weather conditions, including but not limited to:
- Snow accumulation and ice formation
- Flooding and standing water
- High winds or flying debris
- Hail and extreme storms
- Prolonged direct sunlight
- Saltwater or coastal environments
A high-quality cover or shelter is strongly recommended. Weather-related damage is not covered unless explicitly stated in warranty terms.
8. Structural Care
To maintain structural integrity:
- Do not overload shelves, countertops, or cabinetry.
- Do not drill, bolt, or modify structural panels or framing.
- Avoid adding unapproved accessories or heavy equipment.
- Keep hinges, tracks, and hardware clean and lubricated.
Any structural damage resulting from customer modifications or misuse is the full responsibility of the customer.
9. Pest & Wildlife Prevention
Customers must take reasonable steps to protect the pod from rodents, insects, and wildlife. This includes:
- Keeping food sealed and stored properly
- Cleaning cooking residue after use
- Closing all cabinetry and access panels
Rumi Pods is not liable for damage caused by pests or wildlife.
10. Rust, Corrosion & Environmental Exposure
Although materials are selected for outdoor durability, environmental conditions vary. Customers must:
- Dry all surfaces after rain or cleaning
- Use recommended stainless-steel conditioners where applicable
- Avoid corrosive chemicals, pool water, or salt air when possible
Corrosion resulting from environmental exposure is not covered under warranty.
11. Professional Servicing
Any required servicing must be performed by licensed professionals. Rumi Pods does not authorize self-repair of structural, electrical, plumbing, or gas systems.
Unauthorized servicing or self-repair may immediately void applicable warranties.
12. Non-Liability & Customer Responsibility
Rumi Pods cannot be held liable for:
- Injury, accidents, or hazards due to misuse
- Damage caused by improper installation or utilities
- Appliance or utility failures outside our control
- Weather damage or environmental deterioration
- Customer modifications, alterations, or neglect
The customer acknowledges full responsibility for following all instructions, performing all maintenance, and hiring qualified professionals where required.
